Film school started for Frank when his parents began dropping him off at the Universal Studios backlot everyday after school when he was just twelve years old. No one thought of stopping a little kid sailing through the gates to sneak onto countless film sets. Most of the time he got lucky. But occasionally he got the boot from some unlikely people. Through the years Frank soaked up filmmaking on the sets of such masters as Roland Emmerich (Independence Day), Chris Columbus (Harry Potter), and Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future).

Once high school was nearing its end, Frank wanted to skip film school altogether, but took the advice to go to college after a chance encounter with Steven Spielberg on the Universal lot. So Frank pillaged Loyola Marymount University’s film school of their equipment as often as he could and built up a stable of music videos, commercials and shorts. During his second year in college, Frank signed with Propaganda Film’s Satellite division alongside fellow directors Spike Jonze and Mark Romanek where he got to learn first hand from the cutting edge masters.

10 years later and Frank has helped shape the careers of such multi-platinum selling artists as Eminem, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Backstreet Boys, Duran Duran, Cypress Hill, Good Charlotte, X-Factor’s JLS & Alexandra Burke, Natalie Imbruglia, Simple Plan, Lifehouse, and Xzibit among others.

Throughout the years Frank has had over a dozen #1 videos on MTV’s TRL with many of them being retired after so many days on the countdown. His many awards, nominations and accolades range from MTV, Much Music, CMT (Country Music Television), MVPA (music video production association) and Billboard Music awards. Frank also has the honor of directing MTV’s most requested video of 2003 for Good Charlotte’s “The Anthem.”

Frank’s work created a buzz in advertising as well with his now infamous three spot campaign for Tommy Hilfiger. Frank’s commercial credits include Coca Cola, Sony Playstation, Microsot Xbox, Sprite, Bud Light, Activision, Levi’s, Abercrombie & Fitch, Partnership of a Drug Free America as well as many international clients such as Beeline, Tele2, Vimto, Djuice and many others.

Frank’s impressive list of clients over the years includes some of the biggest names in the advertising and music worlds such as Interscope Records, Sony Music, Warner Music Group, Atlantic Records, Columbia Records, Jive Records, Capitol Records, McCann-Erickson, BBDO, Publicis Group, and Lowe Adventa among others.

It’s Frank’s uncanny ability to visually tap into pop culture and exploit it through his innovative way of storytelling and directing of actors, camera, lighting, art direction, coloring, and editing that has made him such a sought after director.

Frank has parlayed his narrative gift of iconic visual storytelling from the music video/commercial world into the world of TV and feature films. Frank directed the TV pilot “Santa Cruz” for Executive Producer Simon Fuller of American Idol fame as well as worked on the iconic TV show “24” staring Kiefer Sutherland. Frank is attached to direct the feature film “The Butcherhouse Chronicles” for Paramount Pictures and Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes. Frank is also attached to direct “Kidnapped” for Lions Gate Films. In the meantime Frank is doing what he does best… directing commercials and music videos for today’s crop of cutting edge artists/brands and developing various feature film and TV projects.
